Back to Basics, Winter 2012

Back to Basics is a FORRAD initiative, undertaken to give families necessities that most of us take for granted: water, clothes, and shelter. This year, Back to Basics is focusing on providing warm clothes, storage tanks for drinking water, and shelters to select families in around the Sambhar Salt Lake in Rajasthan. Helping families construct shelters in Rajasthan

This year, as part of our Back to Basics campaign, FORRAD is helping families construct shelters. Because of the heavy rainfall in parts of Rajasthan, a number of rural families are now homeless. Winter is approaching, and the night chill has set in. We plan to build tin roofs for five families in this area, four of whom are profiled below. In two of these families, women are due to deliver babies in the coming weeks. [Read more]
